Photos from San Juan, Puerto Rico

I visited San Juan old town in Puerto Rico earlier this year and I was inspired by all the beautiful colours and tropical plants within the city. The colours have definitely influenced some of my most recent designs, in which I have tried to reflect their vibrancy.

Original collage with Japanese paper

As well as my illustration designs I have been work on some original collage work. Using a original screen print as a base, I then worked up the layers of the design using hand cut pieces of vibrate tissue paper and Japanese origami paper, I also use crayon on elements of the image to produce this one off piece....check it out below

I have a number of unframed prints for sale at the Bristol Tourist Information Centre at the E-Shed next to the Watershed. The exhibition open on Saturday 16th January.

'Watershed has just refurbished E Shed which was formally a bar and set up a new initiative with Bristol Tourist Information Centre to use it as a tourist information centre but also to provide exhibition space and opportunities to art groups in the city.........This great opportunity for Spike Print Studio to exhibit quality original prints by its artists at a very affordable price. It also provides a shop front for the studio which currently does not have such a facility. All works are for sale'

Printmaker explores Manhattan!

I just returned from New York where I took lots photos and gained inspiration for new designs and artwork! Photographs from my trip will be posted on my website soon.

I also took the opportunity to visit the Lower East Side Printshop to take a tour of their studios and facilities with the view to maybe work there sometime in the future......
